Kindergarten Sing Songs of Thanks

Submitted by susan.hunter on

The kindergarten performed songs of thanks for their grandparents.  After the program, the grandparents spent some time in the classroom listening to their grandchild read and making crafts together.

The kindergarten children also visit a retirement home, where they perform their songs of thanks.

The students gathered for the November reading assembly.  As they entered the gym, their excitement grew as they saw cones lined up in front of the basketball hoop with dollar amounts attached to each cone, books were scattered on the steps, and bikes lined the stage area.

Positive Influences

Submitted by susan.hunter on

Each month the students receive character education prevention lessons to help them develop a more positive character.  In October the students learned about being honest.  This month they focused on being a positive influence on others.

The teachers choose two students each month who are examples of the theme being taught.  Congratulations to the students awarded for being a positive influence on others.

Secret Mission

Submitted by susan.hunter on

On Wednesdays, the students in the fourth grade with no missing assignments get to participate in a fun activity.

Today's activity was a "secret mission".  The students built lasers in the hallway with red string and tape.  They each had an opportunity to go through the hallway and try out their skill at being a secret agent without getting caught.
