Santaquin Elementary just completed a six week residency with District Dance Specialist, Melanie Fillmore. Melanie is part of the Beverly Taylor Sorenson Arts Learning Program and is a member of the curriculum coaching staff. During her visit Melanie modeled for teachers the use of dance and movement as a teaching tool for core subjects in math, science, social studies, and literature. Melanie, classroom teachers, and students used dance to learn about everything from telling time to division to friendship and more. Check out some pictures and see what we’ve been up to!

Second grade was lucky to have Hogle Zoo come and teach them about habitats and making observations.
They also drew our own zoo and measured how tall their animals were! It was such a fun experience!

Our 3rd and 4th Grade Students had the opportunity to submit their artwork to be displayed in the Nebo District Offices! Mrs. Ringger chose finalists and then our faculty and staff here at the school voted for the winners. We have 6 students whose art will be on display! Huge congratulations to Sophia Alvey, McKenzie Hayes, Evelyn Hunt, Andee Mills, Brielle Newberry, and Xavier Ruiz! Look for their art at the District Office!

Our 4th Graders got to have the Living Planet Aquarium come and teach their students about habitats and animal adaptations. The students even got to meet & pet a few new friends!
