We had an amazing assembly to celebrate the end of the year!  During our assembly, we celebrated Mrs. Wright and Mrs. Hogan's retirement.   We honored all of our teachers and staff members who won't be coming back to our school next year.  We got to congratulate our 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders who placed at the track meet, and then we had some school-wide milestones to celebrate:

** Our students read 1,643 HOURS during book fair week!!  Because they did such an amazing job, Mr. Richins had to kiss a pig!  Actually, he kissed TWO pigs!  The students have been talking about the pigs for months, they were just so excited!  We want to send a huge ~THANK YOU~ to Payson High School FFA and Mr. Rindlisbacher for bringing the piggies to our school!

** Our students met and exceeded the goal for our Fun Run with OVER 1,000 LAPS! The rewards for our students doing such a great job on the Fun Run were 1) Mrs. Hermansen got duct taped to the wall! and 2) Mr. Richins got slimed!  You should have heard the cheers!

We also want to thank our amazing PTA for arranging so many fun activities and rewards for our kids to enjoy!

We have such an amazing group of students here at Santaquin Elementary and it was so much fun to celebrate all of their accomplishments!  Great job, kiddos!!

Our art unit about Pablo Picasso was a hit!  We learned so many interesting fun facts about Picasso. One of them being he was not a good student in school and got sent to detention a lot! But he took a sketchbook along with him and loved it and could stay and draw all day forever and never stop!

Picasso said it took him 4 years to learn to paint like the masters, but a lifetime to learn to paint like a child,  so these kids were pros at Picasso’s cubism style.
