Each student at Santaquin Elementary worked very hard this year on their reading for our final 'It Pays to Read' Assembly.  Everyone participated in our 'Minute to Win It' for the celebration.  Students were given one minute to shoot baskets, jump rope, hula hoop, knock down bowling pins, score a hockey goal, etc.  Lucky winners won cash for every station they completed within the minute time frame!  Tons of students won books and prizes, some with $ money $ inside.  Two grand prize winners left with their very own BIKE!  It definitely paid to READ this year at Santaquin!

Once again, the PTA came through with a great carnival for the students and their families.  It was a bit windy and cloudy, so most of the fun was in the gym.  The bounce toys outside were a hit.  But the big winner of the day was the dunk tank.  Thanks to the brave teachers and staff who took the plunge!!

Discovery Space Center

Students from Santaquin 6th grade were able to travel "to new frontiers" as part of their space center experience on Thursday, April 25.

The new Discovery Space Center had a blow up dome planetarium for the students to do some star-gazing without having to stay up all night.

A lesson was given to the students on light, sound, and outer space.

The highlight of the experience was the chance to have a "simulated" flight experience and learn the value of team work.

Because of a few glitches on the field trip for one of the groups, the entire 6th grade has been invited to bring their entire family to a Monday Night star show at the Discovery Space Center in Pleasant Grove FREE of charge!  Tell the director you are with the Santaquin Elementary group.  Information is available at:

PTA members spent Friday after school decorating classroom doors so the school will be ready for "Teacher Appreciation Week".   Teachers and students will be delighted with the new 'decor'!!!   Santaquin PTA members are very clever and we can't wait to see it all put together.
