Mrs. Haynes introduced three white mice to her students today as she read "Mouse Paint" by Ellen Stoll Walsh.  The white mice blended into a white piece of paper to stay out of sight from the cat.  One day the cat took a nap.  The three mice found three jars of paint, jumped in, and became red, blue, and yellow.  Paint spilled out from the jars and as the mice danced around on the paper, the paint mixed together, making other beautiful colors.

After hearing the story, the first grade students were able to mix the primary colors together to create other colors and frost vanilla wafers.
