The students gathered for the November reading assembly.  As they entered the gym, their excitement grew as they saw cones lined up in front of the basketball hoop with dollar amounts attached to each cone, books were scattered on the steps, and bikes lined the stage area.

The student's reading tickets were in the tumbler.  The first name was chosen and the crowd went wild.  The student chosen was called to the front and was allowed to pick up to four people to shoot baskets.  For each basket that was made, the student won money.  There were a total of four students who had this opportunity.  Some of the students went home with $15 cash.

Other students won books.  If they chose the right book, they also received a one-dollar bill.

Teachers also took the opportunity to spotlight a student or two from their class.

Then came time for the bike drawing.  Hunter Breland from the Kindergarten PM class won a bike, and so did Phoenix Davies from Mr. Griffith's Fourth Grade class.

IT REALLY DOES PAY TO READ!
