Our students had a book tasting in the library last week!  With Thanksgiving coming up, we talked about our favorite foods as well as foods that we don't like at all.  We've all heard someone say, "How do you know you don't like something if you haven't even tried it?"  Books are the same way - you have to try some unfamiliar things to see what you think ... and you might be surprised at what you discover you love!

The students got to explore different genres of books and quite a few new tastes were acquired.  What kind of books will you fill up on during Thanksgiving break? Bon Appétit!

First graders were absolutely estatic to be attending Junie B. Jones the Musical at the Scera Theater. We LOVE reading our Junie B. Jones books and could not believe our EYES when we finally got to see her on stage! First graders wore their best dress to the theater. We were the sharpest looking bunch there. The weather kept us from eating lunch at the park, but we sure had a great time having a picnic in our classrooms.

Halloween Adjectives in 4th

Submitted by shawnee.mcmullin on

The 4th grade teachers had a wild weekend collecting marvelous monster parts for the students to feel and then describe with awesome adjectives. They felt monster brains, eyes, fingers, teeth, ears, and tongues!
