The Freedom Festival sponsors multiple patriotic contests each year in categories including Art, Essay, Speech, Storytelling, and Video. The video contest is open to everyone; other contests are open only to students. The contest theme this year is Freedom.

In addition to receiving cash prizes, contest winners enjoy having their work promoted in the community by the Freedom Festival all year.

The deadline for all contests is November 14, so get moving!

Go to for details on each contest, including age requirements and cash prizes. We are so excited to receive your entries!

A few days before school, the teachers gathered to share summer stories and plans for the new year.  Mr. Goudy made a delicious breakfast.  Mr. Argyle taught us about personality traits, and the faculty enjoyed it all!  Santaquin is a great place to be!

I have been married to my husband, Matt, for just a little over a year.  I have a brother and sister who are 10 and 12 years younger than me.  I often call them “the kids” or “my kids”.  I grew up in Morgan, UT, living with my mom, amazing step dad, and the kids on a small farm.

Teaching Experience

This will be my first year teaching as I just graduated from Utah State in May. I am so excited to be teaching here at Santaquin Elementary!  I am ready to learn and grow throughout this year as a teacher.

I love to read, swim, snowmobile, board and card games, and small crafts.

I enjoy going to movies and arcades with my husband and spending time with our families and friends.

Health Information Regarding Lice

Mr. Chad Argyle

Dear Parents:

Each year within the school there are a few cases of head lice.  This is a common situation among elementary age children and is not life threatening, but is a nuisance no one wants to have in their family.  When individual cases are made known to the school, we follow the appropriate protocol for the situation in order to mitigate the lice and to inform parents of their infected child.  We also work to protect and respect the families who have been infected and to minimize student concern that could interrupt their academic learning.

There are two links below that will answer many questions you may have regarding lice.

Lice Information 1

Lice Information 2

Our school nurse, Laurie Kay, will be happy to answer any additional questions.  She is also willing to meet for one-on-one training and education.  Please call (801) 754-3611 to schedule an appointment with her.

Thanks so much for your understanding and support of Santaquin Elementary.
