Each month the students receive character education prevention lessons to help them develop a more positive character.  In October the students learned about being honest.  This month they focused on being a positive influence on others.

The teachers choose two students each month who are examples of the theme being taught.  Congratulations to the students awarded for being a positive influence on others.

On Wednesdays, the students in the fourth grade with no missing assignments get to participate in a fun activity.

Today's activity was a "secret mission".  The students built lasers in the hallway with red string and tape.  They each had an opportunity to go through the hallway and try out their skill at being a secret agent without getting caught.

Adam Glendon Sidwell, author of Evertaster, visited Santaquin Elementary.  He gave a presentation on imagination and the writing process.  Mrs. Adams got to pretend she was a viking!

We appreciate him taking the time to visit our school and encouraging our students to use their imaginations.

The children were so excited for recess as the snow covered the ground for the first time this school year.  It was fascinating to watch as the children changed from their competitive games played at recess to the uniting of a common goal - building humongous snow balls.

The school was filled with excitement as the students entered dressed to dazzle, scare, make others laugh, or just to enjoy the events of the Halloween day.

The faculty sure did dress it up.  Our Fifth Grade teachers came as Rock, Paper, Scissors.  The Sixth Grade teachers turned into "The Three Blind Mice".  Some of the faculty were transformed into Minions; hopefully, they will be back to normal tomorrow.  We had Jenny, a character from a book, a puppy, man, scarecrow, chef, Santa, the list goes on.

Thanks to all those who celebrated this day with us during the parade, in the classroom, or by helping your child dress up to enjoy the festivities.

Students and faculty wore tie-die shirts, ties, and ribbons in their hair for the theme of the day.  Third grade students excited to show their support for Red Ribbon week.

We kicked off Red Ribbon week by wearing red.  On their way to lunch, the students signed their name to a poster agreeing they would not get caught in the web of drugs.  The students received a spider ring for participating.

Second Grade had their "Parents and Pumpkins" literacy night.  The children whose names were drawn, picked a pumpkin to take home.

The Parenting With Love & Logic course is designed to help parents practice effective parenting without the power struggles.  Parenting with Love & Logic teaches parents and children to accept natural consequences and reach a win/win agreement.
