Nebo School District is always trying to improve communication and responsiveness to our stakeholders. To that end, we invite students, parents and teachers to give feedback on teachers and administrators in Nebo District schools.  A link to the Nebo Stakeholder Survey 2017-2018 will be found on the Nebo home page at www.nebo.edu beginning Wednesday, February 7 and remaining open until Wednesday, February 21, 2018, where Nebo District stakeholders will be able to share their thoughts and experiences. (Parents and employees will be emailed a link to help them gain access, while students will be shown the link in their computer labs.)

The purpose of the Nebo Stakeholder Survey is to help us improve instruction and to keep our finger on the pulse of our patrons. For feedback to be most useful, we suggest being polite even when sharing intensely positive or negative feelings, sharing specific experiences that illustrate your ratings, and using appropriate language in all circumstances.

D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education)is a police officer-led series of classroom lessons that teaches children how to resist peer pressure and live productive drug and violence-free lives.  Our 5th graders at Santaquin Elementary have just finished the program! Way to Go!!!

We are celebrating the 100th day in school this week.  In second grade,  students and teachers came dressed as if they were 100 years old. They also brought 100 items from home to participate in some fun math and other educational activities.  Each of our five second grade classes also had a goal to do 100 acts of service by the 100th day!

Nebo School District will be hosting a series of Parent Awareness Nights. The topics of discussion will include mental health and safety planning with youth. Several community service providers will be present to answer question and help individuals to access services. See the event flyer for more information.

Santaquin students enjoyed the Pays to Read assembly this week.  The Pays to Read assembly is a reward and motivator for reading.  Our students have read just over One Million minutes already this year.  Students earn reading tickets during the term for reading.  During the assembly,  Mr. Argyle randomly picks tickets for the students to choose a book or a prize.  Many students leave the assembly with a book.  Several students are chosen to participate in the basketball shoot contest, and two students win a bike.  Congratulations to our bike winnners, Kristy Jessop a kindergartner in Mrs. Holt's AM class and to Jack Walker in Mrs. Millers 5th grade class. 

Second Grade read "Mr. Tanen's Tie Trouble" this week. As part of our language arts curriculum we enjoyed a visit from our amazing Tech Coach, Mr. Hanosek, who taught us how to tie a tie. Students practiced "How To Writing." They also practiced oral language skills by interviewing a classmate in order to design a tie for them. They then wrote about their experience.​  We had alittle trouble but ultimately we tamed those ties!

The students in Ms. Camper’s 2nd grade class had a blast completing a breakout room. Students were placed into groups. Each group had to figure out tricky clues to unlock four locks on their box. The students also used their knowledge of two-digit addition and subtraction to solve the tricky clues. When they unlocked all their locks they found a book for the class and a treat. One student said “it was really challenging, but taught us to not give up.” Another student said “I learned that we learn from our mistakes. When we fixed a mistake it helped our brain learn to do it right.” Several students said “today was the best day ever!!!”
