Mrs. Holt is a wife, mother, and outstanding educator. Her husband and children are so grateful to have such an amazing wife and mother. As a mother of three, she has a lot on her plate. She is able to balance the busy aspects of home-life with the craziness of teaching. She is a support to her team and leads kindergarten in a positive way. When she is not at school, she is a wonderful mom and tirelessly strives to support the needs of her children and needy husband. After a day full of snotty noses, tying shoes, letting children in lines, redirecting countless times, and all the other demands of teaching in today’s schools, she comes home and has the patience to help with homework, make lunches, do multiple loads of laundry and be present for her family. She does everything with love and dedication.

Mrs. Holt has been teaching for 14 years, and has spent all of those years at Santaquin Elementary masterfully teaching Kindergarten. She has obtained a Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, and spent many hours gaining further education so that she is up on the latest ideas for supporting her students. She has a great understanding of early childhood  development and always implements best practices in her teaching. She is 100% dedicated to her students. She knows and loves each of them and knows how to help them.

Congratulations Mrs. Holt!

Teacher Tuesday - Miss Call

Submitted by shawnee.mcmullin on

All About Miss Call

Miss Call teaches Third Grade at Santaquin Elementary. She grew up in Clovis, California.  Don't worry, she doesn't make that drive every day!  Our joyful Miss Call now lives in Provo, UT.  She is the middle child, with one big sister and one little sister.  She loves to travel back to her home state California. Her two favorite places to visit there are Monterey Bay and San Francisco.  Something you might not know about Miss Call is that she can yodel!  When she isn't yodeling or teaching she likes to dance, hike, bake, or play soccer and spikeball! If you want to get on her good side, you should know that she loves dark chocolate. But as much as she loves dark chocolate, we love having her at our school even more! Be sure to say hello when you see her and ask about her secret hidden water talent.

Miss Dooley’s class helped free 6 elves from captivity! They did this by working together in teams to solve math problems as well as directional problems to unlock 4 locks to free the elves. They only had 30 minutes to do this. Once the locked boxes were opened, they elves magically disappeared to immediately go tell Santa what great teamwork the first graders had. Guess who got a big jump on being on the nice list for Santa?Image removed.
