Want to get your groceries and earn money for Santaquin Elementary AT THE SAME TIME? There is one simple way to do just that!

"The Kroger Family of Companies is committed to community engagement, positive social impact and charitable giving at the national and local levels. Every community is unique, but our common goal is to partner with the neighborhoods we serve and help the people there live healthier lives.

One of the ways in which we do this is through our Smith’s Inspiring Donations. This program makes fundraising easy by donating to local organizations based on the shopping you do every day. Once you link your Card to an organization, all you have to do is shop at Smith’s and swipe your Shopper’s Card." -SmithsFoodandDrug

3rd Grade’s Tulips in Bloom

Submitted by shawnee.mcmullin on

3rd Grade students planted tulip bulbs last fall. It is spring and now they are blooming! During this project students learned about living and nonliving things. They learned about life stages. Now the students are using the tulips to take and plot data on line plots to compare tulip growth. They are discovering how light and heat affect blooming times. Notice how some of the tulips are still green, some have buds that are turning from green to red, and some have already bloomed? Which tulips do you think are getting more light and warmth from the sun shining on the bricks of the school? Are they facing east or south? You are right! (The bricks facing south are absorbing the sun because it shines on them most of the day. The bricks on the east side of the school get less sun. This means we all get to see blossoms over a longer period of time.)
