We are celebrating the 100th day in school this week.  In second grade,  students and teachers came dressed as if they were 100 years old. They also brought 100 items from home to participate in some fun math and other educational activities.  Each of our five second grade classes also had a goal to do 100 acts of service by the 100th day!

Santaquin students enjoyed the Pays to Read assembly this week.  The Pays to Read assembly is a reward and motivator for reading.  Our students have read just over One Million minutes already this year.  Students earn reading tickets during the term for reading.  During the assembly,  Mr. Argyle randomly picks tickets for the students to choose a book or a prize.  Many students leave the assembly with a book.  Several students are chosen to participate in the basketball shoot contest, and two students win a bike.  Congratulations to our bike winnners, Kristy Jessop a kindergartner in Mrs.

Second Grade read "Mr. Tanen's Tie Trouble" this week. As part of our language arts curriculum we enjoyed a visit from our amazing Tech Coach, Mr. Hanosek, who taught us how to tie a tie. Students practiced "How To Writing." They also practiced oral language skills by interviewing a classmate in order to design a tie for them. They then wrote about their experience.  We had alittle trouble but ultimately we tamed those ties!
