6th Grade - Vernal Equinox | 101.62 KB |
Students from Mrs. Greer's sixth-grade class found a day with sunshine and ran outside to have their picture taken with the Vernal Equinox sun casting a shadow. Students learn that the sun is low in the sky during the winter and that the low sun casts a long shadow. They also learn that the Autumnal and Vernal Equinoxes should have about the same length of shadow. To prove this they take a picture close to the first day of Fall, the first day of Winter and the first day of Spring.
