Every day students in Mrs. Snelgrove’s class dance, exercise, and do yoga with UNICEF Kids Power-ups. These activities get their bodies moving while giving the students the opportunity to make an impact locally and globally. They earn points to provide Ready to Use Therapeutic Food (RUTF) packets for impoverished children in other countries. RUTF is made of peanuts and nutrients that help these children get healthy. These students also make a positive impact locally. They collect power coins for each activity. The students have collected 213 coins and have chosen to purchase four trees that will be planted in a local forest area, and two meals that will be given to needy people in our area. The students chose these items because they want to provide something that will last a long time. Local forest fires burned many trees and the students decided this donation would make the biggest impact locally. These students love the activities and are happy they can do something that helps other children and the environment.
