Wild Wonders from Genola visited the first grade.  Sara Jacobson showed the following animals to the students.  Toothpick the Hedgehog, Piper the Chinchilla, and a snake.  The snake was quite a hit with the students.

Kindergarten Fieldtrip

The Kindergarten took a field trip to the Santaquin Fire Station.  They learned about fire safety and how the fire department relates to our community.

Mr. Argyle explained the purposes of the firefighters clothing and a few of them tried it on.

Thanks to all those who participated in this field trip.  It was a great success!

Christie Peatross worked at Santaquin Elementary for 7 years.  She taught many students and was a great asset to the teachers, especially in the Kindergarten class rooms.  She will be missed, but we wish her the best as she pursues her dreams working at Mountain View Hospital.

At the end of the 2012-2013 school year, the 1st grade children were given a challenge to read through the summer.  A goal was set for them to stay at the same reading level or to improve.  As summer came to a close and they headed back to school as 2nd graders, they awaited their reading results.

In October an assembly was held to recognize all those who had turned in their reading slips through the summer.  Then trophies were given to those who stayed at the same reading level or improved.

The children's names were also entered into a drawing where they received a basket full of goodies or a blanket made by the 1st grade teachers.
