Our students have been having a blast doing centers in the library. Some of the new centers include reading big books, creating their own bookmarks, reading on the bean bags, playing literacy games, and using whisper phones to help with fluency and expression. Our students are also participating in March Madness! 4th, 5th, and 6th graders are voting for their favorite books from the 16 most checked-out books at the school. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd graders are voting for their favorite book Mrs.
Do you like Sardines or Guacamole? How about oysters and olives? The students in Mrs. Smith's 3rd grade class had a lesson on trying new things. First they noted what food items they think they would like, then they got to choose which foods they wanted to try. The food choices included raisens, green olives, guacamole, sardines, oysters, cottage cheese, hot cheetos, spam, and crackers. After they tasted each food, they noted if they liked it or disliked it then compared their before and after results.
